Some people like having a brain that convinces them that one more donut is fine because we’re all going to hell anyway. Some people like being uplifted by happy games. Some people like being scared by horror games. This game title is both a warning to those who may be triggered by such dark subject matter while acting as a beacon for players like me who actually enjoy getting bummed out by our games. It’s got the word suicide right in the title.

So yeah, it's a really solid four hours that ends rather flatly. I don't understand why Nicole needs to die. His entire life has been wrapped up in this one thing and now that it's solved, he can finally rest. Why would he live with his sister's abuser? I can understand him killing himself in the end. Irving was interesting, but I wanted him to be explained more. Then her coming back to the hotel would be a sort of atonement and confrontation of her sins.
It was clear early on that Rachel did not commit suicide, but I really thought it would be Nicole who had done it. Claire killing Rachel out of jealousy seems deranged and we don't know enough of her character to decide whether that makes sense or not. And that final reveal and its subsequent fallout is ultimately disappointing. The problem, however, is that the game is leading up to this climactic point where it unveils the truth behind its red herring of a title. I was immediately pulled into the story and found it to be really thrilling. I like that it didn't rely on jump scares.

The full price is way too much for a game that is so short and feels rushed towards the end. Taking all of these into consideration, and the fact that the game was quite short to play through, I can recommend this game, but definitely not at the full price. All these things really added to the immersion in my opinion and kept me engaged to the story the whole time. The small sounds of the abandoned hotel also were really good and made it a little bit spooky to play through. The soundtrack was good and the voice acting was pretty good as well. There were a few bugs that forced me to reload a save and loose some progress in the game, but other than that I didn't find any issues in the gameplay. The game was very straightforward with what it wanted you to do when playing, and it didn't really reward a lot of exploration. The storytelling had good pacing and moved forward steadily at the start, but near the end it got really rushed and felt like they just wanted the game to be over with as fast as possible.
